Name: Sabrina Schlack
LomoHome: @pixiekitten
Location: Berlin

Please tell us something about yourself and what you do.

I’m Sabrina, 28 years old and I am currently living in Berlin. I was born and raised in Austria where I also studied fashion design. Now, I am working as a content marketing manager at an agency here in Berlin. On weekends, I love to be out and about in the city, my Lomography camras always by my side. My favorite subjects at the moment are stickers, signs, and street art.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

I think I stumbled upon it by accident while googling something about my Lomo. It was love at first sight with the community, to be honest. On one hand, I had all these photos lying around on my computer that nobody ever saw and there was an opportunity to share it with the other community members. And there are tons of talented lomographers in the community by whom to get inspired. Could there be anything better?

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

The one about shooting day and night – I really try to shoot any time of day and my boyfriend, who also shoots analog, can go crazy about not having the right film or if there’s not enough light and things like that. But I just shoot and don’t think too much about getting everything perfectly right in that picture. I’m pretty spontaneous with my pictures.

In this digital age, why still film?

Because it is fun! Is there anything more thrilling than going to pick up your developed film, taking it home, and finally seeing the pictures you took? They are also more special: Every single picture I take has its own story to tell.

Your favorite analog camera as of the moment? Why?

My Lomo LC-A. It was my first one and will always be my favorite. I have the original one where you can still set the aperture. Once, I have dropped it and we were able to repair it instantly. What digital camera could you do this with?

What is the Lomography camera you’d want to have someday?

I am really getting into 120 film, so since I love my LC-A, I would like to have an LC-A 120.

Share your current favorite Lomograph, could be yours or a friend’s. Why?

This one I took on Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin.

It was one of the first pictures I took with the Lomochrome Purple film. I really like how it turned out and immediately after I had the film developed, I just had to stock up on it. Now, I have eights rolls of it at home.

Any Community member you look up to? If so, why him or her?

Currently, I am just discovering the community and there are several photographers whom I really like.

What are you looking forward to in our Community?

To discover new photographers and see the way they capture their world. I love to see the effects that different cameras and films have on a photo. I think the community is a great place to be inspired.

Thank you Sabrina for sharing your thoughts with us! Welcome to the community and we’re looking forward to seeing more of your work!
